Each was presented with a check for $330.33 from Becton Dickinson at the SWACM business meeting on Friday, Sept. 12.

The winning poster was presented by Janet Cromien with the following title: "Evaluation of Selenite-F Broth for the Routine Culture of Salmonella and Shigella from Stool: Report Based on 34,461 Specimens Throughout the Continental United States.

The winner of the case study award was Peter Gilligan.

Ron Silberman Exhibitor Award:

To recognize the many years of dedication Ron Silberman has given to SWACM , serving as Exhibits Chairman since the beginnings of the Association, a new award has been established in his name.

The award will recognize a vendor exhibiting at the annual meeting who has contributed substantially to the success of the organization and the annual meetings through grants, volunteerism and/or event sponsorship. The vendor must be a sustaining member in good standing.

This year’s award was given to
